Part 1: The Rejection of Jesus
Mar 30, 2025 • Andrew Patrick
Within this sermon, we explored the painful yet necessary rejection of Jesus. The same crowds who welcomed Him with palm branches and shouts of praise in Matthew 21 were the ones who later cried, “Crucify Him!” just days later. This dramatic shift was not accidental—it was part of God’s sovereign plan.
Psalm 118:22-26 foretells this rejection, declaring that the stone the builders rejected would become the cornerstone. Jesus had to be rejected to fulfill prophecy, take the weight of our sin, and open the way for salvation. His rejection led to our redemption, reminding us that even in suffering, God’s plan is always at work.
