Part 3: Admirer or Follower?
This powerful message challenges us to examine whether we are admirers or followers of Jesus. Drawing from Luke 24 and the resurrection account, we're confronted with a startling reality: even with all the evidence of the resurrection the people struggled to believe. The disciples were perplexed, afraid, and marveling at the evidence before them, yet still didn't fully comprehend what had happened. What made the difference? Jesus took them to the Scriptures expounding on the things concerning Himself, revealing how everything pointed to His suffering, death, and resurrection. It was in the breaking of bread, both literally and spiritually, that their eyes were opened to know Him. This reveals a profound truth for us today: we come to truly know Jesus not just through witnessing miracles or hearing testimonies, but through engaging deeply with God's Word. The message asks us to honestly assess whether the truth of Easter has been applied to our lives or if we're simply impressed by the story while remaining unchanged. Are we pursuing relationships with others on God's behalf, reflecting His heart for the lost? Or have we allowed the world to conform us into a watered-down version of Christianity? This Easter celebration calls us beyond admiration to transformation through the renewing of our minds in Scripture.
